By the 4th quarter of 2015, the country entered the list of producing countries of fine cocoa for the International Cocoa
Organization (ICCO), with a level of approval of 100%. Of the 22 countries that make up the list, only nine are recognized with that percentage.
Award winners fine cocoa beans are produce in Waslala (Matagalpa), located in the foothills of the Bosawás nature reserve, protected and declared by Unesco since 1997 as a Biosphere Reserve and is one of the largest in the Americas
What we do
Kakaw Export is focused on collecting and exporting fine cocoa from the Matagalpa region of Nicaragua. This product has been fermented and dried under high quality standards, certified by labels such as UTZ, Organic and Fair Trade.
We are a family owned company recently founded in Nicaragua with operations in Central America, we manage the production and export chain of the finest cacao produced in “Mesoamerica”.
We are developing, side by side with cooperatives and commercial partners, varieties of cacao that excel in their flavor and aroma. We handle, in detail, the different processes of the chain, the sowing, handling, fermentation and drying, transport, packing and export of our fine and exclusive products.

Located 175 km from the city of Managua, the capital of the country and 45 km from Matagalpa, departmental head of the department of the same name. Has a subtropical forest climate, semi-humid, corresponds to tropical semi-rainy, with precipitation between 2,000 and 2,500 mm. The temperature oscillates between 22º and 24ºC
